Families We Are Helping

The Evans Family

Equau Evans is a single mother raising 4 children – Tramaine (11), Deandre (9), and Janiyah (6). Ms. Evans recently had a stroke and has limited mobility. She has a hard time getting around, and having a group bring presents would make it easier for her children to receive some Christmas presents this year.

Wish list items:

Tramain needs items that will help him with his spelling. His mother would like for him to have something that is educational. Deandre would like toys that relate to football. Janiya would like furniture to go with her “Talking Dora” house. She would also like a children’s Bible. Ms. Evans would like warm house shoes, some long johns, and wash cloths.

The Noel Family

Vania Noel is a single parent – raising Titus (2) and Tamarah (9 months) -  who lost her job in September.  She has returned to college and the work schedule interfered with her classes even though she told them ahead of time.  Ms. Noel is still looking for work but has to work it out with school. She hopes to find something soon but will need help for Christmas.  Ms. Noel was not working prior to this because her daughter was born premature, only 1 1/2 pounds.  She has severe respiratory problems and was not able to go to daycare until recently and Ms. Noel back to work.

Wish list items:

Ms. Noel  would like a gift certificate that can be used for the family and some dishes. Titus would like cars, books, toy men or figurines, and learning toys.  Ms. Noel would like for Tamarah to have baby dolls, a ball, books, and learning toys.

The LaFond Family

Tracey LaFond is a single mother raising 1 child – Russell (8). Ms. LaFond works full-time as a waitress, however, she has difficulty making ends meet.

Wish list items:

Russell would like toys (Spongebob Square Pants and board games such as Guess Who), Spiderman stuff, and the Elf movie theme stuff.

Tracey would like slippers and bath products.

The L. Family

Ms. L is a single mother caring for her two children (16) and  (13).  Her 13 year old son was hit by a SUV in a hit and run accident on his way to school two month ago.  He sustained liver and kidney lacerations, head fracture, five broken ribs, a broken eye bone and a head fracture.  After a period of hospitalization, he is continuing his recovery at home.  Ms. L has been unable to work due to his accident, subsequent hospitalization, and necessary care required at home.

Wish list items:

Ms. L would like clothes and gift certificates.

16 year old girl would like clothes, gift certificates, and make-up.

13 year old boy would like clothes, gift certificates, board games, and tennis shoes.

The B. family

Mother is currently widowed and on disability, raising 5 children. Her income will not allow her to provide Christmas gifts for her children.

Wish list items:

3 year old boy would like Spiderman things. 

13 year old girl would like a gift card to Wal-Mart. 

17 year old boy would like gift cards to Wal-Mart. 

16 year old girl would like gift cards to Wal-Mart. 

6 year old girl would like Princess stuff.

Mother needs face towels and a gift certificate to Marsh for food, laundry detergent, etc.
