In 1949 Indianapolis, entrepreneurs Ed and Thelma Schoenberger had an idea to create a show that featured Holiday gift ideas, Santa Claus and a variety of arts and crafts, and the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show was born. From a handful of exhibitors and, of course, Santa the show has grown. Today, the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show is the largest of its kind in the Midwest. Over 60,000 patrons attended last year, and the show now boasts over 350 exhibitors selling "something for everyone "

For 59 years the city of Indianapolis has marked the beginning of the holiday season with the opening of the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show. Twice the show has been selected as "one of the 200 Best Shows in the United States" by Sunshine Artist Magazine. This event is a true Mid-Western Tradition that attracts tens of thousands of shoppers!!

Held in the West Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, this event covers 4 acres. Everything you'd need to have an enjoyable day is within the facility including food service, entertainment, and of course a Holiday shopping adventure. Seating is provided throughout the show. The West Pavilion is barrier free for the physically challenged.
